My Process

Design Thinking:
A Non-Linear Process
— Interaction Design Foundation

Empathy & Strategy

  • Meet with team/stakeholders to begin discussions of current users’ pain points and needs

  • Begin documentation on the project, the client & their users, requested deliverables, etc

  • Collectively define scope, timing, and goals

  • Discuss possible MVPs, MLPs & Measurements of success

Discovery

  • Conduct competitive and user research to understand the current market & audience better

  • Chat with internal team to gain insights on the tech limitations and previous experiences

  • Review current data

  • Conduct user interviews and/or create user personas

Define

  • Collaborate with PMs/PD on building potential Use Cases, UX flows, User Stories, etc...

  • Storyboard User Journey

  • Confirm flows align on the goals for MVP/MLP.

Design & Iterate

  • Ideate, sketch, wireframe, prototype, review, repeat with PM/PD

  • Refine high res prototype and test with users

    • confirm design proposal can be understandable to use by users

    • document areas of improvement and rework design based on feedback

      • or ticket for future feature release

  • Polish the visual design

  • Create responsive designs (when needed)

  • Add approved components to the design system library
